On April 4th the Ferne Animal Sanctuary will be opening a new charity shop in Bow Street, Langport.  Based in Wambrook, near Chard the sanctuary was founded in 1939 by the late Nina, Duchess of Hamilton and Brandon. Somerset seas lowest tide in 200 years

Over the weekend of March 21st  and 22nd Somerset will experience the lowest tides it has seen in 200-years. These super low tides provide a once in a life-time chance to see some of Somerset’s most hidden wildlife and learn more about what lies beneath the water. Thorney Road closed

The final part of the project to improve flood defences for the northern part of the village of Thorney will start next week. This will mean a four-week closure of the road between Thorney and Muchelney. A diversion has been set up by County Highways but be warned, it is a very long way round!
